Chrissy Thomsen, a long time resident of Saranac Lake and now Gabriels, New York, has been photographing nature and landscapes for the past 40 years.  She finds taking photos a great way of relaxing but also a form documenting for her journal.  What compels her to take the images is the beauty that lies below her feet, above her head and everything in-between.  “We’re so fortunate to be living on this planet, sharing the same air, water, soil with every living being.”

One of her favorite places to photograph are UNESCO locations.  “I’ve been lucky enough to travel to just a few of these UNESCO sites throughout the world.  I feel compelled to show the importance of these images and the need to preserve our environment and human history.”

When she’s not photographing, you can find her meandering the aisles at Nori’s, a local health food store, located in Saranac Lake, New York.

UNESCO- The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization is a specialized agency of the United Nations based in Paris.
